Recovery Support

Recovery Housing

Recovery Housing is for persons with substance use disorders and provides a transitional living environment in the community that is structured to promote sobriety and independent living during early recovery.  Clients are free to work, attend treatment, or recovery support services during the day.

Recovery Coaching

Recovery Coaching is a face to face or telephone service that includes a person’s stage of recovery and establishes a recovery plan to identify and mange relapse warning signs and other issues critical to success in early recovery.  Recovery coaches often work with persons after completion of addiction treatment to assist with a positive experience in early recovery and connect persons with additional resources if needed.  Recovery coaches or Certified Peer Supporters are persons in good recovery from addictions for more than 2 years, and models a healthy recovery lifestyle. A person may want to have a sponsor and in addition, seek a different person as a recovery coach.

Recovery coaches are found in addiction treatment agencies, recovery housing agencies, recovery support agencies, and in both municipal and common pleas drug court programs in Summit County.  If you are interested in working with a recovery coach, please indicate this to a treatment counselor or court staff, and they can assist you in connecting with a local recovery coach.

For additional information, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) provides a listing of available recovery support resources.
